Welcome to the January 2012 Place Bulletin, and a happy new year to all our Members. We kick off the year with news of the Government’s plan to alleviate the problem of rough sleeping in the UK’s towns and cities. We also have more from Westminster in the form of new plans to relax local bureaucracy to allow communities to organise Street Games in celebration of this Summer’s Olympics, and we a piece on the next phase of the local public audit. We also have news on the Mary Portas review, a story regarding the National Planning Policy Framework, and a BBC item on the increasing number of towns that are ‘un-twinning’.
