ENCAMS is an independent, registered charity that works with major land owners and private sector bodies to bring about sustained improvements in the quality of local environments. We also campaign directly to the public and are probably best known for our Keep Britain Tidy campaign that has been running for over 50 years and aims to get people to stop dropping litter. The quality of the local environment can be adversely affected by the prescence of litter, dog fouling, fly-posting, fly-tipping and abandoned vehicles. These issues, and others, stand to affect how people feel about where they live and what they and others think of their communities.

To achieve our vision we:

-  run pubic campaigns to targeted groups;
-  run environmental education programmes;
develop and deliver innovative products and services;
provide information and knowledge about local environmental quality;
-  facilitate activities with organisations and communities;
-  support central government
-  carry out research and market research to underpin our activities and policies
